Features
APS have picked up and improved upon a concept that was kind of left hung out to dry a few years ago. This was the idea of having a “gearbox” that can make an otherwise Electric powered gun run on a propellant like green gas, or in this case, CO2. This brings a whole load of benefits, including and not limited to the parts compatibility and aftermarket that the AEG world has to offer, while keeping the realism and immersive characteristics of running a gas blowback rifle. APS call it the “G.Box” system and have gone to the extra lengths of building it into their new “XTreme” M4 style stockless PDW. These are sleek, smart and tactical looking, appearing just as good as performing. The shorty rifels come equipped with some top end and modern features such as a stubby M-Lok handguard and 20mm RIS rail spanning the length of the rifle, giving space for optics and lasers. The buffer tube is extremely short and the blowback action still works. Compared to other GBBRs it is essentially short stroked. However, if you prefer the strong kick, the stock is changeable and original TM spec Buffer tube can be used. It has an ambidextrous mag release, Quick Detach sling points and an aggressive looking amplifier muzzle device on the end of the 14mm CCW threaded outer barrel. The receiver, handguard, stock, pistol grip, fire selector, magazine release, and charging handle are all AEG compatible. The hop up and inner barrel are compatible with the Tokyo Marui GBB/VSR10 range. To maintain durability and longevity, APS have designed the G.Box with plenty of steel parts where needed for strength and reliability. APS claim they have been durability testing these and after putting over 35,000 rounds through them they still run well and as they should. Impressive!
