The FAMAS is a bullpup style assault rifle that came into service with the French military in the late 1970’s to early 1980’s. Like all other bullpup rifles, the characteristic of moving the action of the weapon behind the trigger group enabled the weapon to field a relatively long barrel while retaining a relatively small overall weapon profile.

The FAMAS has been featured in numerous movies, tv shows, anime, and video games such as Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six; but arguably the most memorable would be Metal Gear Solid in which the FAMAS was used by the Genome Soldiers as well as Solid Snake himself.

The Cybergun licensed FAMAS AEG features various improvements over the original Tokyo Marui FAMAS. This FAMAS uses an upgraded Tokyo Marui spec version 1 metal gearbox with enhanced durability and performance while retaining standard Tokyo Marui parts compatibility. The built in folding metal bipod is sturdy and offers a stable shooting platform for the user. Just like its real-life counterpart, the longer barrel offers improved performance and accuracy over rifles with shorter barrels.
