Consider yourself an AK user? Ever held an LCT? You’ll never want to put it down. LCT is one of the most praised brands on the market for their quality of externals, with their rugged, reliable and realistic build Quality. LCT, through great attention to detail and by closely replicating the same manufacturing processes used to make their real firearm counterparts have really earned their reputation of manufacturing some of the best quality products available. The LCKMS is a replica of the AKMS manufactured by the Soviet Izhmash and Tula factories from 1959 along with the AKM. The “M” means modernisation and is in referral to the stamped receiver, not milled, making it more mass producible, and considered more high tech at the time. It can also be identified by things like the ribbed dust cover. The “S” refers to the underfolding stock. These are the most commonly seen Soviet AK pattern rifles chambered in 7.62mm. Usually when someone says “AK47” they are referring to the AKM, or the Type 56 Chinese made AK. LCT has done a fantastic job replicating such an iconic firearm. The steel is robust and heavy, and the attention to detail down to the machining marks on the outer barrel and the quality and finish of the wood is superb. Until you remove the dust cover revealing a gearbox, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was a real AKM. Being a V3 gearbox, it is open to all sorts of after market upgrade options if you so choose to, but out of the box, delivers great consistent results. LCT also manufactures nearly every variant of AK furniture for their rifles, and spec them to be compatible with some real steel parts. There’s also various other companies making kits, accessories and furniture for LCT AKs such as 5KU, TWI and DyTac. So there are near limitless options to really deck it out in modern rails and accessories and make your own unique rifle.
