Features
Now for something a little bit different. An almost MP5 sized and looking compact assault rifle. This is based on the HK53 carbine which is a derivative of the HK33 rifle which is essentially a 5.56 chambered G3 variant. The HK53 though lesser seen than some of the others mentioned has seen special forces and law enforcement use around the world, including none other than the British SAS. This is the first gas blowback replica we’ve seen in the airsoft world and VFC like with the rest of their GBB range, have truest smashed this one out of the park. To put it plain and simple, it looks and feels exactly like a real one. The stamped steel receiver and realistic markings and weld marks are incredibly pleasing to the eye. The plastic is a heavy nylon fibre reinforced polymer that you would expect to find on the real one, and the finish is that thick black matt but ever so slightly glossed finish that you see on all of these older pattern Heckler and Koch Cold War era rifles and smgs. The operation, manual of arms, and manipulating the fire selector controls and ”Koching” that charging handle is extremely satisfying. We all love the classic MP5, wielded by every action hero and villain of the 70s – 90s, but the HK53 offers something a little bit extra. Now usually with airsoft guns, the calibre of the real world counterpart has no real relevance other than looks and maybe ammo capacity. On Gas guns however, bigger calibre equals bigger magazines that means more gas capacity! As well as a larger surface area to spread out the effects of and minimise the effects of cool down. This is a must have for collectors or anyone doing an SAS loadout.
